2025
Reparaciones y Expansión de Calzada Cortez
In 2025, we also plan to undertake general repairs—including flooring, fencing, and roofing—at the Calzada Cortez building. Additionally, we aim to expand the space by constructing a second-story addition between the existing auditorium and second floor, creating more classroom space (Project 2007).
Casa Oscar and Alicia
In 2025, we plan to assist Oscar and Alicia in improving accessibility in their home. As the parents of Nico (Project 2019), they encounter daily challenges navigating their house, and our goal is to enhance their access and ease of movement.
2024
Casa Contreras
In 2024, we partnered with Bernando Contreras and his family of five to help them build a home on their newly acquired land on the hilly outskirts of Ensenada. Despite challenging conditions with no running water or electricity and uneven terrain, we provided the resources to construct a provisional 10' by 10' house, affectionately dubbed 'Casa Karibe' after their youngest daughter, and laid the groundwork for a permanent home. In 2024, we returned to build a 24' by 36' permanent house. Within a week, we had the structure ready for the final roofing phase.
2023
Calzada Cortez Remodel
In 2023, we undertook a significant remodeling project at Calzada Cortez, the central location of Iglesia de Cristo de Ensenada. This initiative aimed to expand and improve the existing church facilities to better serve the growing congregation and community needs. The key focus of the remodel was the expansion of the main worship area to accommodate more attendees. The remodeled Calzada Cortez now serves as a more functional and welcoming space, enabling the church to expand its outreach programs and better serve the Ensenada community.
2019
Casa Nico and Andrea
In 2019, we partnered with Nico and Andrea to help them build a safe and comfortable home in their community.
2017
Casa Estela and Family
In 2017, we helped build a house for Estella Vazquez and her daughter Lillia. This was one of the hardest projects due to the location of the building site. There's a reason we called this project 'The House on the Hill.' The materials were delivered to the end of the paved road, and we had to carry each and every 2x4, 2x6, sheet of plywood, bag of cement, laminate roof panel, sheet of drywall, and can of paint up a dirt path to the building site. It felt like a fitness bootcamp! Each day was a workout, with team members hauling materials uphill, strengthening their muscles and determination. Despite the difficulties, the team managed to complete the house, giving Estella and Lillia a new place to call home.
Land Purchase in Ojos Negros
In 2017, we purchased land for the church in Ojos Negros, preparing for a significant future project.
2016
Casa Axel Y Cuquis
In 2016, although we were unable to send a team of workers, we were able to provide the necessary funds for the local Ensenada team to undertake and complete the project. With this support, Giovanna Guillen and her children, Yvett Alondra and Axel Ruben, received a new home.

Casa Julio and Lala Vélez
In 2009, our team embarked on a journey from Ensenada to San Vicente Guerrero to build a house for Julio and Lala Velez. It wasn’t until we boarded the church van in Ensenada that we realized we were participating in Calzada Cortez’s very first youth group mission trip. This unexpected milestone added a special sense of significance to our efforts, as we helped lay the foundation not only for a new home but also for a new chapter in the church’s outreach program.

2002
Floor and Fence Project
In 2002, three churches came together over a two-week period to complete two community projects and build two homes. The projects included pouring new concrete outside the Calzada Cortez building, expanding the parking and multi-use space, and constructing a privacy fence for Milo, our construction project manager.
Casa César Y Casa Iván
In our collaborative effort in 2002, we built two houses side-by-side—one for Ceasar, who worked at the City of Children, and the other for his son, Ivan. Each of the three participating churches took on a different role during the various construction phases, with one focusing on the floor, another on framing, and the third handling the finish work. This teamwork ensured the homes were completed efficiently and allowed each church to contribute uniquely to the project’s success.
2001
Calzada Cortez Roof Project
In 2001, we embarked on an ambitious mission to transform the Calzada Cortez building. The existing structure had a rotting roof and a false drop ceiling inside that trapped heat, making the space stifling. We stripped the old roof and ceiling down to the original beams, creating a more open and airy interior. We then installed a new galvanized metal roof and constructed a higher interior ceiling to match the roof’s height. The final touch was new sheetrock, which not only improved the building’s durability but also enhanced its overall comfort and usability.
